Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress, is known for her roles in film and television in the latter half of the 1980s. The actress has won numerous accolades such as the Golden Globe Award, and sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Her work has been recognized for TV and film since the late 1980s she has received various accolades such as two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett originates born in New York New York. She was raised at Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett was able to move with her younger twin sister in St. Petersburg Florida at five years old in order to be closer to their mother, who was separated from their father. Bassett was in high school and, saw John Steinbeck's production Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she was inspired to be an actor. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut receiving a bachelor's degree (1980) with a major in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. At Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1981. Graduate in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast as one of the main roles of Ramonda for the action movie, i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
